The Fall-Winter 25 collection “First snow, late night” was unveiled by RUOHAN at Paris Fashion Week.

The collection is comprised of fragments—the first snow before it melts, incomplete thoughts, and brief moments. Fabric folds reflect the cycles found in nature: pleats change, shapes enlarge and contract, and the transient is transformed into structure.  From polyphonic compositions to geometric analyses of earlier collections, our investigation has consistently focused on relationships—from macro to micro—the unity and tension of the square and the circle, as well as the order and fragments of time. It has now evolved into something even more expansive, a contemplation of the seasonal cycles.

Cotton and linen are as stark as naked branches, cashmere jacquard mimics the crystalline structure of snow, brushed wool is as soft as clouds, coarse wools leave the impression of footsteps in new drifts, and quilted organza is cushioned with warmth. Except a single flash of gold—a ginkgo leaf, the last of the afternoon light falling on a building’s edge—colors are obscured by mist, subdued, and diffused. This layering is echoed in purses and shoes, which are soft yet structured, stiff yet flexible. The “here” and “elsewhere” in “soft” and “firm” are derived from the idea of a snow-covered roof or an origami game played as a youngster.
