For his fourth personal exhibition at Galerie Alain Gutharc, Michael Roy introduced Day for Night based on a François Truffaut’s movie. The artist explored different technics in cinema used to film nocturnal scenes during the day. How do we distinguish the real and the fiction? That’s what Michael Roy wanted to show us here through his canvas. Michael used a lot of blue, white and black which clearly dominate the whole exhibition and make sense of that nocturnal false atmosphere he wanted to give. To continue with this cinema-fiction atmosphere, the artist also took some private images of some actors (Brad Pitt, Kate Moss) taken by paparazzi years ago where we can’t really identify them. Michael Roy also presented a particular version of this mythical The Sun cover featuring a naked Prince Harry.
