George Turner just dropped his debut album Insect. Spanning over 47 minutes Insect is an intriguing collection of abstract avant-garde pop with elements of New Zealand music. The majority of the instruments on the album are formed out of field recordings the Wellington-based artist has taken during his trips. Other than subtle guitar, drums, vocals and bass, the album is made out of sounds from George’s life.

The very personal Insect gives to the listener a glimpse into the artist’s life, the album speaks of George facing his mortality, reflecting on his parents, childhood and their passion for this planet.

Insect is streaming now on all platforms.
