After spending some time in Los Angeles, Prototypes makes a return to Paris to present its Series05 show shot by Valerio Mezzanotti.

Prototypes is a Swiss-based upcycling brand dedicated to repurposing deadstock garments bringing materials, styles, and archetypes from the new world back to the old world of high fashion. In Series05, they merge a sensibility for craftsmanship with a strong conceptual focus on the present, looking closely at subcultural and professional dress codes to assess their aesthetic potential: the e-girl, the hooligan, the power-dressing PR representative, and further modern archetypes are playfully referenced, remixed, and redefined. In doing so, Prototypes’ Series05 tells a story of preservation in technique and spirit, rescuing not only vintage garments but also conserving a range of actors of the now.

Founded in 2021 by Laura Beham and Callum Pidgeon, former designers at Vetements during Demna’s era,  Prototypes are senior design partners of Ye this year, contributing to creative development. As a result, 5 looks from the show are made from the YEEZY’s deadstock. Callum Pidgeon has been appointed Design Director for the Menswear division while Laura Beham has taken on the role of Design Director for Womenswear at YEEZY.
