Frequent collaborator with Pairs Project for over half a decade,  photographer Louise Reinke presents THE WOMAN I AM, a deeply personal art book that charts her exploration of identity, womanhood, and belonging.

Reinke’s philosophy is rooted in storytelling: each photograph acts as a visual poem, a reflection of both the subject and the artist’s own journey. THE WOMAN I AM collects images from her first trip to Brazil in a way only a book can: a space where each image breathes within a larger rhythm, creating a cinematic unfolding of moments that convey the atmosphere and emotional resonance of the journey. For Reinke, the book format allows these fragments of time to coexist, forming a visual autobiography of both place and self.

The timing of the project is equally significant. Reinke notes that global events from the pandemic to social and political upheaval have altered borders, human rights, and the cultural landscape. Within this context, her work asserts the power of choice and self-realization in defining womanhood. Her portraits invite readers to see vulnerability as strength, and photography as a medium of both testimony and self-reflection.

In 2025, Reinke also presents On the Sun’s Level, an immersive series of 36 fine art prints created in Brazil in collaboration with Kodoji Press, further extending her dialogue between the intimate and the universal. Through her art, she continues to celebrate the intersections of personal experience, emotional truth, and the shared human gaze.
