“I wear jeans a lot. I usually wear vintage Levi’s 505’s from the 80’s, because they look great on the butt and have a perfect leg.” – Mel Ottenberg

Stylist and editor-in-chief of Interview magazine, Mel Ottenberg took his denim look to his friends at RE/DONE and created the denim uniform, MEL by RE/DONE.  The uniform consists of the MEL jeans in two washes (medium blue and light acid), a trucker jacket, the Club Mel graphic tee, and a selection of upcycled Levi’s 505s.  It’s all unisex and sustainable. Additionally, they did a limited run of upcycled Levi’s 505s because RE/DONE got famous by taking Levi’s and upcycling them, and because the 505 is true to his essence.

The MEL jean style is very classic, very 80s. The rise is high so you can wear them tight and high waisted or more relaxed and chill.  Since the jeans are unisex, they’re sized for both men and women. And they look great on both.
