“I Hear You is more than just my debut album. It embodies countless hours of dedication in my journey to create something timeless, and is a testament to the power of listening, to ourselves and each other.” – Peggy Gou

South Korean producer, DJ, and trendsetter Peggy Gou finally reveals details of her debut album. ‘I Hear You‘ is a collection of anthems to consume on the dancefloor, witness Peggy Gou’s passion for house from the 1990s and 2000s and her ability to offer fresh and undeniably effective electro.

These 10 titles are the culmination of years of work, listening, observation, and the result of research work to create a timeless object. After ‘(It Goes Like) Nanana’ and ‘I Believe In Love Again’ with Lenny Kravitz, Peggy released ‘1+1=11’ accompanied by a music video by and with the artist Olafur Eliasson. Speaking about the “1+1=11” video, Eliasson says:

“Dance is transformative! It bends and reshapes our relationship with time and space. When I was a teenager, breakdancing changed my life. I was into popping, moving like a robot, and doing the electric boogie. Street dance enabled me to explore the space of my body in relation to the world around me. I came to realise that by moving, I could change space. I could change what I saw and what I sensed. And these experiences proved foundational for my later artistic work.

I Hear You is out on June 7 via British label XL Recordings. Peggy Gou will be in concert on June 2 at the We Love Green festival.
