Amen Dunes, the musical project of New York based Damon McMahon, is releasing his fifth album next month on Sacred Bones. After announcing his new album with the video of “Miki Dora”, he dropped today the clip of his second single “Blue Rose”.
“Blue Rose” is inspired by McMahon’s adolescence, growing up with an unpredictable father, his fight against music, drugs and fantasy, and his escape from all this through one of his many identities, that of a musician, of which Freedom is the perfect testimony.
The video, shot in Queens and directed by Alex Goldberg, shifting from McMahon’s narration to a younger portrayal of him dreaming of a world filled with friends and escape.
