“In chaotic and destructive times, joy and fantasy feel like a frivolous luxury but in reality these things are what allow people to persevere. We looked to our past this season and were inspired by the theatricality and excitement of our early collections and shows. We let this energy propel us into SS26.” Bryn Taubensee and Patric Dicaprio, Vaquera.
The NYC born brand was founded on the inspiration of bringing whimsy and playfulness into everyday fashion. The downtown kids latest runway show in Paris fully expresses this belief in their work, even twelve years after the company was founded. Looks like the kids are all grown up.
Vaquera’s show redefines the outdated notion of “good” and “bad” taste within their Spring/Summer 2026 collection. The American brand has recently relocated to Paris, and their work still portrays their foundation of NYC-style streetwear that first caught the attention of Dover Street Market. The ready-to-wear collection features avant-garde everyday wear. From ballroom gowns to suspenders, the brand shows that whatever you are wearing is the right choice.
This collection features split looks; outfits with athletic-wear and evening gowns in one garment. It shows that you are never too dressed down and never too dressed up. Vaquera states this collection allows the wearer to “…realize the power of the most exciting scenario: wearing the wrong thing at the right time.”
