Backstage at Situationist SS18 shot on 35mm by Irakli Danelia during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi styled by Grigor Devejiev

We are quite enthusiastic about the future of Georgian Fashion and designer Irakli Rusadze is one of the heavy weights behind the Georgian fashion revolution along with stylist Grigor Devejiev who styled our favourite collections during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Tbilisi.

Situationist may hold an “underground” title, but it is definitely garnering fans abroad like Bella Hadid and this past year was even a guest at Milan Fashion Week. Along with the fashion renaissance in the capital city, music has played a big part, especially with one particular club Bassiani.  With Situationist’s DNA strongly in set in the early 90s, a time when the country came of independence, swimming pool-turned-club Bassiani set under a stadium made the perfect space for the SS18 collection with a trembling bass soundtrack.

Rusadze is an immaculate pattern cutter and can work wonders with leather. His collections are very non-descript and could be easily worn in Tokyo or Detroit whilst still evoking the same mood. With pieces that stood firmly on their own, accessories weren’t necessary but one piece stood out on its own, a Sega emblazoned bag that evoked same spirit of the early 90s, but what we love is that the collection lies neither in the past, present or future, all is relative to the wearer.
