Sick, yet full of dreams. This collection is an invitation to spend some time with a girl who is about to die. Neith Nyer’s creative director Francisco Terra pays tribute to his late sister, who passed away at the age of 18. He summons elements of her bedroom, a place of peace and melancholy. « It was comfort at its fullest, » he explains. « Pillows everywhere for her to rest and cuddle, pastel colours, dried flowers. I wanted the collection to reflect this sweet excess. »

The key silhouette of the collection is the character of « Miss Petticoat ». The idea was to twist this childish figure by imagining her as a grown up woman. Ruffles and gathers become a feature of seduction, the lambskin used for the skirts is scorched, the baby-like bodysuits are printed with suggestive graphics.

All the references to countryside life are magnified by way of vibrant colours and fabrics. The santiag boots developed in collaboration with New Rock are simultaneously fringed, embroidered, stringed with lace ribbons, tied with velcro…

The conception of Spring/Summer 2018 reflects more than ever the DNA of the brand. Garments flirt with the boundaries of vulgarity and have been translated into luxury. Lace and PVC used for the coats and dresses recall domestic tablecloths. Worked onto prints and details, flowers and butterflies exist fully conscious of their corny symbolism.

This show is a playful ode to life and memories.

Francisco Terra grew up in Brazil and started his career in Paris for houses like Givenchy and Carven.
