Airports are a funny place. They more or less look the same, prices tend to be standard as are security protocol. Its the most international place in any region and everyone is off to different destinations for different reasons. We tend to spend a lot of time at airports, and it always sparks curiosity what everyone manages to pack, how they dress to arrive, and peaking over the shoulder to see where the passport is from. You can’t always choose who you travel with.
Set the Kyiv airport, Jean Gritsfeldt collection really couldn’t have been shown anywhere else. The casting was made up of fellow passengers from different backgrounds all off living their own stories. The feeling was much more LAX or LAS than IEV. It would only be cliched to compare the collection to the wave of Post-Soviet designers in recent years. There was the kitsch glam of Richard Simmons and the Harlem Globe Trotters with some Jackie Collins thrown in. Like the early 2000s, are we ready to make fashion fun again?
