Film Noirs celebrates Black designers and creatives and speaks to solidarity and independence within the Black community. In their support of IN THE BLK, The Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode launched FILM NOIRS on the official Paris Fashion Week online platform.
Presented by IN THE BLK, a collective of Black creatives in the fashion industry who are dedicated to creating and expanding spaces for fellow Black designers, FILM NOIRS is a five-part film series from around the globe. Created in partnership with Equator Productions, the five short fashion films are directed by Ademola Faloma, Anthony Prince Leslie, Elisha Smith-Leverock, Numa Perrier, and Sean Frank, costume designs led by Ade Samuel and Memsor Kamarake, and features collections of following Black designers: ASHYA, Bien Abyé, Fanmon, Fe Noel, House of Aama, Khiry, Off-White, Orange Culture, Sergio Hudson, Sewit Sium, Stella Jean and more.
IN THE BLK was founded and led by Haitian-American designer, Victor Glemaud. Members of the collective hail from nations around the world, including the United States, Nigeria, Italy, South Africa, France, Senegal, Ethiopia, Ghana, and more and make up an extensive list of renowned designers including Aliétte NY, ASHYA, Awa Meité, Bantu Wax, Bien Abyé, Christie Brown, Daily Paper, Fanm Mon, Fe Noel, House of Aama, Kenneth Ize, Khiry, Lem Lem, LoveOhLou, Loza Maléombho, Lukhanyo Mdingi, Maki Oh, Marty Moto, Maxhosa by Laduma, OffWhite, Orange Culture, Rich Mnisi, Romeo Hunte, Tongoro, San Sovino 6, Selly Raby Kane, Sergio Hudson, Sewit Sium, Shekudo, Stella Jean, Studio 189, Thebe Magugu, THIRD CROWN, Tokyo James and Zashadu.
