For their latest collection, Courrèges explains that Creative Director Nicolas Di Felice, “…draws inspiration from the trajectory of a solar cycle to its zenith to revisit the graphic sensuality of Courrèges’ codes” for inspiration.

Courrèges took quite a literal interpretation of a spring and summer collection; the brand’s collection changed color and silhouette based on temperature throughout the show. The circular venue and brightening lights played heavily into the theme of an everchanging, outdoor experience.

The opening look began the show at twenty-four degrees celsius with blue tone fabric and a full, face-covering garment. The collection progressed as the garments strayed from cool tones with rigid silhouettes to beige and warm tones with fabric seemingly dripping off of the models. As the temperature rose and the colors warmed, the show’s lighting increased to the point of not just models wearing sunglasses but the entire audience needing them as well. The garments covered the models’ faces during extreme temperatures, implying that the garment was an extension of one’s own skin and armor.

Amidst the front row of the circular layout of the venue, Emma Chamberlain and Kim Petras, both celebrities based in Los Angeles, California, can be seen enjoying the show. Emma Chamberlain, who is known for her involvement in fashion, is seen wearing a head-to-toe outfit by Courrèges. The monochrome outfit worn by the influencer is almost identical to a look in the show in a different colorway. The brand continues to grow towards youth and futurism with its storylines and audiences. – Brooke Croushore
