“In order to envision the future, we started from our youth.” – Coperni

Coperni Creative Directors Sebastien Meyer and Arnaud Vaillant’s childhood dreams came true as the label’s Spring/Summer 2025 Paris Fashion Week Show was held at Disney Land. The collection showcased what Disney feels like: it encompassed dreams, magic, endless possibilities, and imagination. This collection is presented as a three-act movie. The first act was called “Park Tribes” which showcased youth and nostalgia. The looks were Victorian with ruffles, butterflies, and modern Disney t-shirts. The second act was called “The Villains” which showcased dark garments that were complex, sleek, and structured. The third act was called “The Princess Transformation” which showcased flowers blooming, gowns, and puffiness. The silhouettes were timeless and feminine, yet modern.

“We grew up with Disney as an important part of our childhood. For many French children, particularly those from the provinces, the first family visit to the “big city Paris” meant a trip to Disneyland Paris, Disney’s fairy tales and characters like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Ariel from the Little Mermaid, Snow White, Cinderella, and Maleficent were our guides through the complex landscape of human emotions — friendship, love, fear, courage, transformation.” Sebastien Meyer & Arnaud Vaillant stated in the show notes.

The Coperni show was sensational. The celebration of “Youth, Nostalgia, and Imagination” through the theme of Disney was executed perfectly. It showcased childhood nostalgia through the garments, and the looks were modern and current to the time now. The first act included Disney t-shirts and Victorian elements. The second act was dark and edgy which created the look of villains. The third act encompassed all of the princess colors. The three acts fit together perfectly. – By Sydney Rininger
