Backstage at Tos Gallery campaign shoot during Paris Couture Week by Esther Kroes, Marjolein van den Broek and Tosca Soraya Otten along with 35mm campaign photos by Eduard Nijgh
TOS gallery presented her first couture collection as a stylish exhibition supported by a light installation by Daniel Acutt, planetary artworks by Corine van Voorbergen and an enchanting soundscape by Global Music Branding at Atelier Néerlandais during Paris Couture Week. The exhibition concept was to experience the collection as being an independent universe, where the impressive couture pieces were presented as levitating celestial bodies.
The contradictions between raw denim and refined ‘broderie d’art’, the contrast of chunky knit and sparkling jacquards, large volumes in proportion to fine closures together represent what Tosca Soraya Otten, the founder of TOS gallery, wants to say with this collection: Differences between people, materials, environments and planets underline that what makes the ‘other’ so special. By seeing and acknowledging differences, we experience strength and enrichment.
