During Paris Fashion Week, Camiel Fortgens staged their SS26 collection on the city’s streets, where the clothing naturally fits in with the city’s people, traffic, and architecture.

American archetypal classics and vintage pieces that exude familiarity and timeless appeal are the inspiration for the SS26 collection, which boasts a carefree yet stylish vibe with a touch of effortless luxury. Models held a portable speaker with the show’s soundtrack playing in the background contributing to the music, which came together to create a single, unified sound for the finale. To provide guests with a more intimate glimpse of the collection, a continuous presentation was held inside the gallery, where models walked on stationary treadmills against a backdrop of a sunlit desert.

The Made in Europe collection is characterized by exposed, disassembled features that showcase Camiel’s distinctive vision and craftsmanship. For the occasion, Camiel Fortgens created a special research line in addition to the regular collection. There are obvious signs of the creation process in these pieces. They are purposefully left unfinished; they are snippets of continuous thought rather than finished items. In order to investigate form, proportion, and material, Camiel Fortgens began by cutting, reshaping, and reworking items from archives and vintage apparel. This compilation shows the origins of concepts.
