Queer label from Palestine Trashy Clothing challenges preconceptions about the Middle East while exploring eroticism, orientalism, and awakenings. Collections and campaigns play on stereotypes to highlight discriminatory views on what is considered different, cheap, and trashy in modern culture while highlighting Middle Eastern subcultures. Stylist Amenallah Atrous has uses pieces from Trashy Clothing’s SS24 collection, titled “Bourgeoisie, Mufflers, and Oil,” that dives into themes of imperialism and corruption while questioning the bourgeoisie’s status quo.
